I believe his name was Henri
[edit]There is a botanist named Henri Lecoq (1802-1871) author of Etude sur la géographie botanique de l'Europe, et en particulier sur la végétation du plateau central de la France; Paris,J.-B. Baillière,1854-1858.
In referring to him as "M. Lecoq" Darwin was preumably using the abbreviation for "Mister" or "Monsieur". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 96.250.107.206 (talk) 18:50, 12 June 2009 (UTC)
